Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data. You will serve as a core Snowflake developer, shaping data models, storage structures, and DI/CD practices with a focus on secure data sharing and performance.

You will mentor a data engineer and guide analysts while evaluating cloud tools (Azure/AWS) and dbt enhancements to optimize data flow.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing experience.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building/maintaining semantic layers for downstream AI, LLM, or NLP search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential for team growth, guiding analysts in engineering practices.
