Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven workloads.

You will be a core Snowflake developer, shaping data models, storage, and semantic layers to enable AI features and self-service NL interfaces. The role involves establishing reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices while mentoring a data engineer and guiding data analysts in best engineering practices across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building/maintaining semantic layers for AI, LLMs, or NLP-enabled search.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines (batch, real-time, event-driven).
• Core developer for Snowflake platform; supports performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Develops semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for cross‑team data products.
• Mentors one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices across teams.
• Evaluates integration of AWS/Azure data tools to optimize data flow.
