Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a senior data engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven movement. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimizing performance and data sharing, and shaping semantic models for AI-ready data.

You will mentor a data engineer and collaborate with analysts to mature engineering practices, while exploring dbt, Azure, and AWS tools to streamline data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant work experience will be considered.
• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-premises to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Acts as core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance and data modeling.
• Architects transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reusable templates and CI/CD best practices for safe, decentralized data product builds.
• Provides direct management to one data engineer and mentors data analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives dbt adoption and evaluates AWS/Azure cloud data tools to optimize data flow.
