Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and sustain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven workflows. You will serve as a core Snowflake developer, optimizing data modeling, storage structures, and performance while enabling AI-ready data inputs.

You will mentor a data engineer and guide analysts, while evaluating dbt and cloud tool integrations (Azure/AWS) to enhance data flow across hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture experience and performance tuning.
• Experience moving data across hybrid on-premises to cloud environments.
• Experience with semantic layers and AI-ready data modeling is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement from on-premises and cloud sources.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform, supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams to build data products safely.
• Provides direct mentorship to one data engineer, guiding junior data analysts in engineering practices.
