Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on‑premises and cloud sources. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimizing performance, data modeling, and secure data sharing.

You’ll lead transformations feeding Snowflake and dbt AI features, design semantic layers, and establish reusable templates with CI/CD practices. The role includes mentoring one data engineer and guiding analytics teams in engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud).
• Experience with semantic layers for AI/LLM or NLP workflows.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Supports Snowflake platform performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NLP interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in maturing engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure tools to optimize data flow.
