Job summary

Sedgwick, a leading risk management and claims solutions provider in the United States, is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, real-time streaming, and event‑driven data movement from on‑prem to cloud.

You will serve as a core Snowflake developer, shaping data models and transformation pipelines. You will mentor one data engineer, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and drive CI/CD practices while evaluating Azure and AWS data

Qualifications

• Five+ years in data engineering building production pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid on‑prem to cloud environments.
• Experience with semantic layers and data for AI/LLM or NLP use cases.
• Strong Python and SQL, cloud experience with Azure Functions, Data Factory.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform and supports performance and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high‑quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, templates, and CI/CD best practices for safe data products.
• Provides direct management and career mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure tools to optimize data flow.
