Job summary

Safelite is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to implement and maintain data pipelines, focusing on ingestion, replication, and CI/CD for batch and streaming data. You will help build scalable data infrastructure to support analytics engineers and data scientists.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product owners and engineers, modernization of legacy ingestion, and ensuring data quality and security through RBAC and governance practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/analytics or related field.
• 4–6 years hands-on data engineering or analytics experience.
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT pipelines using Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch or Informatica.
• Strong SQL, Python, and data governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and enhance legacy data ingestion processes for streaming and batch.
• Build scalable ETL pipelines to centralize data into a data lake.
• Develop and deploy CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Improve monitoring and alerting to minimize downtime and maintain data quality.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers on data ingestion needs.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate source changes downstream.
• Ensure data engineering solutions align with business needs.
