Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Florida to design and operate scalable data pipelines across on‑premises and cloud sources. You will be the core Snowflake specialist, optimizing performance, modeling, and storage while enabling AI-ready data inputs for分析 and NL interfaces.

You will architect semantic layers, establish reusable templates, and promote CI/CD practices to empower cross‑functional teams. Mentoring a data engineer and coordinating with analysts are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Five+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing experience.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud).
• Experience building semantic layers for downstream AI or NL search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement from on‑premises and cloud sources.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform with focus on performance, modeling, and storage.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 natural-language interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices enabling decentralized teams to build data products safely.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, guiding analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt for data transformation and evaluates AWS and Azure tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Stream Analytics) to optimize data flow.
