Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on‑prem and cloud sources. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimize data models, and enable semantic layers for AI features.

In this role, you will lead transformation pipelines, promote CI/CD best practices, and mentor one data engineer while guiding analytics teams in engineering maturity. Strong Python/SQL skills and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform and supports performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
