Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines, primarily focusing on Snowflake data architecture and dbt-driven transformations. You will mentor a junior engineer and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high-quality data products.

The role requires strong Python and SQL skills, experience with Azure data tooling, and a track record of building production-grade data pipelines across hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant work experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement from on-prem and cloud sources.
• Serves as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform and supports performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high‑quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 natural-language interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, guiding analysts and engineers.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates integration of AWS/Azure data tools to optimize data flow.
