Job summary

World Market is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to design and operate scalable data pipelines for multi-domain analytics. You will own data transformations, modeling, and documentation while collaborating with analytics, security, and cloud teams.

The role emphasizes production support, data quality, and delivering reliable data products in a fully remote setting, with preference for West Coast proximity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience maintaining data platforms.
• 5+ years with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) in retail context preferred.
• Expert knowledge of SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow and dbt for pipelines.
• Git, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins), and Terraform knowledge.
• Kimball data warehousing modelling, data quality and documentation.
• API design experience; real-time streaming is a plus.
• Experience providing production support and monitoring data delivery SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Create data transformations, cleaning, and validation for analytics use cases.
• Build reusable frameworks and self-service tooling for speed.
• Own source code management and release planning for data products.
• Ensure uptime and monitor pipeline health; troubleshoot failures.
• Document data definitions, transformations, and lineage.
• Evaluate new platform capabilities with Snowflake and cloud teams.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Security, and Cloud Infra to define best practices.
• Mentor engineers and set standards for domain-specific data products.
• Communicate with business stakeholders to translate questions into data models.
