Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data-driven solutions.

You will work with software engineering and analytics teams to ingest, store, process, and analyze large data sets while ensuring data quality and reliability in a cloud-native environment. The role emphasizes collaborating across teams to implement data workflows, evaluate technologies, and improve platform capabilities, with emphasis on big data, AI, and ML

Qualifications

• 8+ years in production-grade data pipelines design and build
• 8+ years overall data engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Python, Spark, Git, and Azure services
• Knowledge of relational DB principles and data warehousing
• Experience with Big Data querying tools
• Healthcare data experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines
• Develop SAS and SSIS data processing
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries
• Create ETL/ELT pipelines
• Evaluate Big Data tools and frameworks
• Troubleshoot data processing issues
• Optimize pipelines for performance and cost
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Translate data requirements into engineering work
• Partner with PM and SRE to align data strategy
