Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data-driven solutions. You will collaborate with software, analytics, and SRE teams to deliver reliable data platforms supporting business and healthcare analytics.

The role emphasizes data quality, performance, and cost efficiency, with opportunities to apply AI/ML techniques to cleanse and transform large data sets for member insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, or computing related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years designing and building production-grade batch data pipelines for ingestion/transformation.
• 8+ years total experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Databricks, Python, Spark, Git, and Azure services.
• Knowledge of relational data modeling and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows using Azure Databricks.
• Develop SAS programs and SSIS packages for data processing.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation.
• Design ETL/ELT pipelines integrating multiple data sources.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for scale and cost.
