Job summary

BECU is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement enterprise cloud-native data pipelines, governance-aware data platforms, and scalable solutions for analytics and AI-driven capabilities.

The role collaborates with Architects, Product Owners, and cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, reusable data products and modern data platforms across the organization. Remote/hybrid options apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of functional data engineering experience.
• 4+ years coding in Python, Scala, Java, SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Proficiency with modern data platforms (Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• ETL/ELT, SQL, and cloud data integration tools.
• Data modeling, warehousing, ODS, lakehouse experience.
• CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub; Git usage and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data solutions for cloud-native data platforms.
• Build scalable data pipelines including batch and real-time flows.
• Drive technical innovation balancing engineering excellence with business needs.
• Champion data governance, metadata, data quality, lineage.
• Mentor data engineering teams and coordinate code/design reviews.
• Collaborate on technology strategy with architects and product owners.
• Promote CI/CD, testing, and secure, reusable data products.
