Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to advance our cloud data platform and analytics capabilities. You will design and build scalable data pipelines, implement real-time reporting, and modernize legacy systems using Snowflake, Kafka, PostgreSQL and AWS/Azure.

You’ll work with a team to translate complex data trends into actionable insights, mentor peers, and contribute to governance and data lifecycle strategies across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and supporting data platforms and ETL pipelines.
• Hands-on cloud data development with AWS or Azure and Snowflake.
• Expertise in modern data architectures including Kafka, PostgreSQL, and data integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud data pipelines and real-time architectures.
• Develop PySpark ETL jobs and S3-to-database data loading with metadata validation.
• Implement and orchestrate workflows using AWS Lambda and EventBridge.
• Optimize Aurora PostgreSQL schemas, real-time and batch loading processes.
• Mentor teammates and translate data trends into actionable insights.
