Job summary
Flodesk, a remote-first email marketing company with a distributed global team, is hiring a Senior to Lead Data Engineer to shape the data platform strategy and execution. You will lead a talented team, define the roadmap, and ensure robust, scalable data systems aligned with modern best practices.
You will drive real-time data pipelines, data governance, and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Analytics, and Infrastructure to empower data-driven decisions while staying cost-efficient
Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with 1–2 years in a leadership or lead role.
- Experience designing and scaling data platforms for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Strong SQL, Python, and modern data pipeline tooling experience.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis).
Responsibilities
- Define the data engineering vision and roadmap aligned with business analytics needs.
- Architect and lead the development of a scalable data platform (lakehouse, warehouses, real-time pipelines).
- Mentor and guide a team of data engineers with ownership and excellence.
- Enforce data governance, quality, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR/CCPA).
- Lead real-time streaming and data observability initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Infrastructure teams.
