Job summary

Teleport is hiring its first Data Engineer to build the internal data platform. You will design pipelines and a warehouse turning raw data from product usage, costs, budgets, and sales into reliable, well-modeled data for every team.

You will partner with Finance, Revenue, Product, and Engineering to define ARR, adoption, infrastructure cost, and gross margin. You will implement canonical identity mappings, data quality checks, and robust access controls.

Qualifications

• Builder mentality and experience starting a data function at a growing startup.
• Strong SQL and dimensional data modeling expertise.
• Production experience with dbt or equivalent SQL transformations.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Redshift/Snowflake/BigQuery).
• Ability to translate ambiguous questions into documented definitions.
• Practical Python or Go experience, CI/CD, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate a scalable analytics warehouse and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Evaluate connectors, exports, and cloud services before custom ingestion.
• Model data from CRM, contracts, finance, and product usage into coherent metrics.
• Establish canonical customer identity and mappings across sources.
• Collaborate with Finance, Revenue, Product, and Engineering on key concepts.
• Implement data quality checks, lineage, and observable failure handling.
• Protect data through access controls, retention, and minimization practices.
• Maintain performance and cost efficiency, keeping the system simple.
• Use Python or Go for integrations where needed.
