Job summary

Hitachi Federal is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to serve as the technical lead for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise data solutions for federal customers. You will collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and customer teams to deliver complex services from design to deployment.

This role is on client site in DC, requiring strong data engineering and consulting skills to mentor juniors and drive repeatable service offerings while delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 8 years of enterprise software engineering, data engineering, or professional services consulting experience.
• Proven experience leading technical implementation projects within enterprise environments.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures and integrations.
• Strong customer-facing consulting and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex professional services engagements from design through implementation.
• Design enterprise-scale data engineering solutions that meet customer business and technical requirements.
• Lead customer architecture workshops, technical planning sessions, and solution reviews.
• Translate customer business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point throughout project delivery.
• Drive customer success through high-quality solution implementation and technical leadership.
• Deliver enterprise data engineering, data integration, and object storage solutions.
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
• Review SOWs, technical design docs, and implementation plans.
• Develop customer-facing architecture documentation and technical deliverables.
