Job summary

Hitachi Federal in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead enterprise data engineering initiatives on federal engagements. You will design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, collaborate with solution architects and project teams, and mentor junior engineers on complex integrations and scalable architectures.

The ideal candidate has TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years of experience, and strong skills in Java, REST APIs, data integration, and large-scale data platforms.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of enterprise software engineering, data engineering, or professional services consulting experience.
• Proven experience leading technical implementation projects within enterprise environments.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex professional services engagements from design through implementation.
• Design enterprise-scale data engineering solutions meeting customer requirements.
• Lead customer architecture workshops, planning sessions, and solution reviews.
• Translate customer objectives into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the Professional Services organization.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure customer success.
