Job summary
The Hartford seeks a Senior Staff Data Engineer to shape how Sales and Underwriting data is ingested, transformed, and delivered across the organization. You will work on modern cloud-based data platforms, delivering governed data products to support analytics and decision-making.
The role offers leadership growth, hands-on ownership of data pipelines, and opportunities to mentor across teams. Hybrid work schedule requires in-office presence in Chicago, Hartford, and other hubs 3 days a week
Qualifications
- 8+ years of data engineering experience in distributed systems and warehousing.
- Hands-on with Snowflake, Oracle, Informatica Cloud/Power Center.
- Experience with AWS/Azure and cloud data architectures.
- Familiar with data mesh, data lake, and data fabric concepts.
Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end data pipelines across platforms and technologies.
- Influence solution architecture and implement CI/CD for data products.
- Mentor teams and guide data engineering practices.
- Document requirements and provide operating guidance for users at all levels.
- Architect and prototype cloud/hybrid data architectures.
- Stay up-to-date on big data technologies and frameworks.
