Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer supporting Employee Benefits Sales to shape ingestion, transformation, and delivery of Sales and Underwriting data across the organization. You will build cloud-based data platforms, ensure high-quality data products, and partner with Underwriting, Product and Enterprise Data teams to drive efficiency and analytics.

The role offers a strong growth path toward Technical Leadership, with hands-on ownership of Quote and Underwriting data

Qualifications

8+ years of data engineering experience in distributed systems and data warehousing.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Oracle, Informatica Cloud/PowerCenter, and Github.
Experience with replication tools (Qlik, Informatica Mass Ingestion, SharePlex, OpenFlow, DMS).
Familiar with ETL using PySpark/Python and Snowflake native features.

Responsibilities

Build small to medium-scale data pipelines and data products end-to-end.
Deliver solutions across multiple platforms and technologies with moderate complexity.
Influence solution architecture and CI/CD practices aligned with DevOps.
Lead data engineering practices, document requirements, and provide user guidance.
Prototype, test, and optimize cloud/hybrid data architectures (AWS, Snowflake).
Stay current with emerging data and analytics technologies and frameworks.
