Job summary

Evolve Vacation Rentals is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and optimization of our data ecosystem. You will build scalable pipelines and robust data models supporting analytics, reporting, and ML workloads, while driving cost efficiency and observability.

Ideal candidates have extensive SQL/Python experience, hands-on with dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Snowflake, and Airflow, and can mentor a multidisciplinary data team. Remote-friendly with strong cloud focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering or related roles with large-scale data systems.
• Strong SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
• Hands-on with modern data stack tools like dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Snowflake.
• Cloud expertise, especially AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, IAM).

Responsibilities

• Shaping design of scalable, modular, and performant data systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable ELT pipelines for analytics.
• Develop and optimize ELT workflows with dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, Python.
• Design data models in Snowflake using star/schema approaches for AI-ready data.
• Improve data observability with proactive alerting and monitoring.
• Explore open table formats like Iceberg for flexibility and scale.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams to optimize AWS-based infra.
• Establish engineering best practices: version control, CI/CD, tests.
• Mentor engineers and analytics pros, promoting knowledge sharing.
• Stay current with emerging data tech and propose platform improvements.
