Job summary

Cetera Financial Group seeks a motivated data engineer to extend our cloud-native data platform. You will design and operate data ingestion, discovery, and consumption pipelines, aligning with data contracts and governance to deliver auditable data products for analytics and enterprise users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with Python or similar OOP language.
• 4+ years of SQL and high-volume ETL experience.
• 3+ years in data warehousing/Lakehouse design on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data ingestion, discovery and consumption pipelines across file feeds, APIs, CDC and streaming sources.
• Collaborate with product owners and data stewards to reflect business imperatives in contracts.
• Own onboarding of new data sources end-to-end through pipeline development and data quality rules.
• Work with orchestration and metadata systems to process events and schedules.
• Support downstream data models for BI and reporting.
• Apply modern software engineering practices with automated tests.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while ensuring security and architecture quality.
• Participate in CI/CD and DevOps for data platform development.
• Monitor pipeline health and troubleshoot production issues.
• Maintain runbooks and data platform documentation.
