Job summary

Cognito Therapeutics, Inc. is building a Security, Privacy, and IT organization from the ground up. The Data Platform Engineer will design cloud data infrastructure, ingest pipelines, and a lakehouse that consolidates device, clinical, and business data for analytics and AI interfaces.

You will enable analytics with BI and an internal chatbot, enforce data governance, and partner with data science and clinical teams to scale the platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building data platforms or pipelines with cloud infrastructure.
• Experience ingesting diverse data sources into a central platform.
• Data modeling and standardization to enable interoperability.
• Hands-on data lakehouse architecture with storage, partitioning, and performance.
• Experience enabling BI or self-serve analytics on data platforms.
• Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals; ETL/ELT, orchestration, quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud infrastructure underpinning Cognito's data platform.
• Create ingest points and pipelines from device, clinical, and business sources.
• Standardize data models and contracts for interoperable datasets.
• Own data lakehouse setup: storage, formats, partitioning, compute.
• Establish observability, data quality, and de-identification of PHI/PII.
• Stand up analytics layer and supervise BI & internal chatbot interfaces.
• Ensure access controls, encryption, and data governance from start.
