Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to accelerate the analytics landscape by building and deploying data solutions that support AI, ML, and BI initiatives. You will guide growth, mentor team members, and translate complex data into usable business insights.

You will design scalable data pipelines, incorporate new data sources, and ensure designs align with data strategy and security requirements across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field or equivalent.
• Ten years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for modular, version-controlled data transformation and integration.
• Experience with Apache Airflow and Dagster for pipeline orchestration.
• Experience delivering data solutions in AWS environments (e.g., S3).
• Strong data modeling skills for usable data products.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery velocity.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and IAM/RBAC.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions and data cleansing/quality solutions.
• Design data solutions, incorporate new data sources, ensure consistency across projects.
• Analyze complex data sources to determine value and use for analytical processes.
• Incorporate data governance, data security, and data quality principles.
• Act as a data/tech SME to support delivery and educate end users on data products.
