Job summary

Catapult Solutions Group seeks a Data Center Technician III (L3) for a 12-month night shift contract in Santa Clara, CA. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and optimization of large-scale data center infrastructure, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in enterprise data centers, strong x86/server, GPU, storage, and networking knowledge, and experience with redhat-like Linux troubleshooting and ITSM tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise or hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with rack and stack deployments; structured cabling.
• Server diagnostics and hardware repair experience.
• Familiarity with Linux and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and decommission enterprise server, storage, and network hardware.
• Perform advanced rack and stack activities including rail installation and cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures in servers, GPUs, storage, and networking equipment.
• Execute firmware updates, BIOS changes, and hardware replacements.
• Support large-scale hardware deployments, migrations, and refreshes.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor data center health with DCIM and monitoring tools.
• Follow procedures and change management and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, facilities, and vendors.
• Mentor L1/L2 technicians with guidance and training.
• Ensure safety, ESD, and security compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintenance windows.
