Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Data Center Engineering team. This role focuses on structural infrastructure strategy, design review, and integration across global data centers.

You will work on multi-million dollar projects, driving cost efficiency, quality, and schedule improvements for a rapidly expanding footprint. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, coordinate with external consultants, and travel up to 25% for site assessments and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and release data center Structural Engineering improvements and designs for the next gen data center design.
• Provide feedback into Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for structural engineering systems.
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including review of foundation and structural systems, evaluating superstructure design options, seismic studies and assessing structural calculation assumptions.
• Create, review and release architectural/civil/structural design RFPs.
• Manage external architectural/civil/structural design consultants.
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP/C/A design engineers.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, interface with AHJs and design consultants; anticipated travel not to exceed 25%.
• Collaborate and coordinate with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
