Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team, located in the Americas with global project support. You will drive structural infrastructure strategy and design, collaborating with CAD teams to deliver robust facilities at scale while upholding safety and uptime standards.

You will lead multi-disciplinary efforts, review foundation and structural systems, and coordinate with external consultants to meet fast-moving project needs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and release data center Structural Engineering improvements and design for the next gen data center design.
• Provide relevant feedback into Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for structural engineering systems.
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including; review of foundation and structural systems, evaluating superstructure design options, performing seismic studies and assessing structural calculation assumptions.
• Create, review and release architectural/civil/structural design RFPs.
• Manage our external architectural/civil/structural design consultants.
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP/C/A design engineers.
