Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Staff Data Center Solutions Architect to design and build software that connects DCIM platforms with data center hardware, focusing on AI cloud systems monitoring and BMS integration.

You will work with EE and AI teams to deliver secure, resilient, and well-instrumented control and telemetry systems, exposing real-time power, thermal, and rack sensor data to dashboards and monitoring stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in CS/EE.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including hardware interfaces.
• Experience with BMS integration or industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP).
• Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions as well as storage and retrieval.

Responsibilities

• BMS integration & control for data center racks, enabling real-time monitoring, control, and automation of critical infrastructure.
• Hardware-software interface development with EE-adjacent interfaces (BMC, IPMI, Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, Redfish) to control and monitor datacenter subsystems.
• Data center software architecture to ensure interoperable, secure subsystems and orchestration.
• Real-time telemetry development to expose power, thermal, airflow, and rack sensor data to dashboards.
• Collaborate with EE teams to translate hardware capabilities into robust software abstractions.
• Implement standards (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, Redfish, IPMI) within the software stack.
• Create APIs for data consumption by DCBBS cloud orchestration and monitoring platforms.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and onboarding materials.
