Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Staff Data Center Architect to lead the architectural design and planning framework for next-generation modular data centers (DCBBS) and high-density AI, cloud, and hyperscale facilities. This role will drive architectural standards, OPR, BOD, layouts, and reference designs for repeatable deployments across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 10+ years of architectural design experience for mission-critical or hyperscale data centers.
• Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure with expected completion within 12 months.
• Expert proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.
• Deep knowledge of building codes (IBC, NFPA), life safety, and data center requirements.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design scope for modular data centers and traditional projects including master planning and rack deployment.
• Develop and maintain architectural standards, OPRs, BOD, and reference designs for global deployments.
• Lead building envelope design and ensure compliance with FM Global and sustainability goals.
• Coordinate with MEP, structural, civil, and product teams; review deliverables and manage external architects/consultants.
• Ensure code compliance (IBC, NFPA, ADA) and lead permitting and AHJ coordination.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate modular architectures into facility layouts.
• Support due diligence, site selection, construction administration, and commissioning.
• Run design reviews and capture lessons learned to improve frameworks.
