Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Staff Data Center Systems Software Architect to design software connecting DCIM platforms with data center hardware. Focus on integrating AI Cloud monitoring with BMS, and ensuring secure, resilient telemetry across racks.

You will collaborate with EE and AI teams to translate hardware capabilities into robust software abstractions, covering protocols like BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, and Redfish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hardware interfaces.
• Experience with BMS integration or industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP).
• Experience with monitoring and alerting, storage and retrieval.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Familiarity with EE-adjacent hardware interfaces (BMC, IPMI, sensors).
• Experience with Linux systems programming and driver-adjacent software.
• Understanding of data center infrastructure fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• BMS integration: design software to monitor and control building management systems in data centers.
• Hardware-software interface development: drivers and services for EE-adjacent interfaces (IPMI, Modbus, etc.).
• Data Center Systems Software Architecture: define architecture for control and telemetry systems.
• Real-Time Monitoring & Telemetry: capture and expose real-time power, cooling, and sensor data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration with EE Teams: translate hardware capabilities into software abstractions.
• Protocol & Standards Implementation: support BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, Redfish, IPMI.
• API & Platform Integration: create APIs for data consumption by cloud orchestration and monitoring platforms.
• Documentation & Runbooks: maintain docs and onboarding materials.
