Job summary

Qualifications

• Have 10+ years of experience in power system protection engineering, substation automation, or substation design for utility, heavy-industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
• Fluent in protection and coordination analysis with relay platforms such as SEL, GE Multilin, ABB, Siemens.
• Experience with protective relays and protection settings for transformers, feeders, buses, generators, and switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Own Anthropic's protection philosophy and design basis across HV/MV/LV systems and maintain relay settings templates.
• Specify protective relays and develop relay settings for transformer, feeder, bus, generator, motor, and arc-flash protection.
• Perform short-circuit, protective-device coordination, and arc-flash studies and apply findings to equipment selection and protection schemes.
• Implement automatic transfer, load-shed, and restoration schemes in protection and automation logic.
• Review protection and control design packages and drive deviations to align with design standards.
• Design the substation automation architecture for sites, integrating relays, meters, and controls into EPMS/SCADA.
• Define network topology, cybersecurity boundaries, and interface with EPMS and BMS/DCIM.
• Evaluate relay platforms and vendor qualifications to diversify the supply base.
