Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer – Design to own the electrical architecture of its facilities in the United States, from utility service entrance through rack power, including substation interfaces, medium- and high-voltage distribution, on-site generation, UPS, switchgear, busway, and grounding.

You will develop the basis of design, reference architectures, and specs; run engineering studies (short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, load flow, power quality);

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities
• Deep familiarity with US electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE)
• Experience producing/reviewing single-line diagrams, equipment specs, and DDs
• Knowledge of power distribution and cooling in data centers
• Experience with prefabricated/modular data center electrical infrastructure
• Ability to communicate design decisions to partners and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of data center infrastructure (utility interface to rack power)
• Develop and maintain basis of design and reference architectures
• Perform and validate electrical studies (short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, power quality)
• Design data center hall power distribution layouts with cross-disciplinary coordination
• Drive prefabricated modular electrical strategy and interfaces between components
• Review and approve design packages, submittals, and shop drawings
• Support factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup
