Job summary

Vertex Innovations is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead two concurrent data center construction projects in the Chicago metropolitan area. You will act as Owner’s Representative and Construction Manager, with executive-level accountability for scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety, reporting to the client COO and CEO.

You will own daily reporting, manage Procore, and lead on-site teams across both sites, coordinating with consultants and the client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years PM experience in commercial or industrial construction, 5+ years in mission-critical/data center projects.
• Experience reporting to COO/CEO on capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Report to client COO/CEO with executive-level briefings on scope, cost, schedule, risk and recovery.
• Own daily project reporting cadence and manage Procore as the single source of truth.
• Lead on-site team, engineers, and consultants across two concurrent projects.
• Recover underperforming GC schedules; enforce action plans and remedies.
• Manage permitting with AHJ and ensure timely approvals.
• Own budget, schedule, change management, and risk registers; escalate with recommendations.
• Oversee QA/QC and safety; ensure compliance and proper handover.
