Job summary

GDIT seeks a Data Center Manager for our federal client in the Infrastructure team. You will oversee large-scale data center operations, security, disaster recovery, and 24x7x365 monitoring across Windows, UNIX, and mainframe environments. The role requires 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and ITIL certification.

U.S. citizenship is required. Onsite work in Washington, DC-area facilities, collaboration with executives, vendors, and program staff is essential for success.

Qualifications

• > 10+ years of working experience managing server and support services; IT outsourcing experience preferred; ITIL v4/v5 Foundation certification required; strong analytical and communication skills; ability to interact with executives and customers; project management a plus; U.S. Citizenship and background check required; onsite in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end Data Center Operations comparable in size and scope to contract requirements.
• Direct operations of large-scale server environments; manage security, disaster recovery, and batch scheduling across Windows, UNIX, and mainframe.
• Plan and execute server consolidation and virtualization across Windows, Solaris, and Red Hat Linux.
• Manage enterprise-class storage technologies and ensure provisioning standards and migrations.
• Implement ITIL-aligned processes in a high-availability data center.
• Lead 24x7x365 monitoring support for national services; oversee mainframe operations.
