Job summary

Flux Resources seeks a subject matter expert in fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center physical infrastructure for a full-time exempt remote contract in the United States. You will oversee end-to-end deployment lifecycles, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, safety standards, and operations requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure deployment or similar critical environments.
• Strong foundation in fiber optics, structured cabling, and physical infrastructure standards.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Visio, OTDR testing tools, optical power meters, and cabling certification platforms.
• Familiarity with BICSI standards and hyperscale data center environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation discipline, and ability to work with contractors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee physical infrastructure deployment projects across data center environments and ensure safety and quality.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams, facility operations, and stakeholders for execution and QA.
• Manage contractor schedules and multi-site deployment coordination.
• Perform QA/QC inspections on rack installations, cabling, grounding, and labeling.
• Validate fiber installations with OTDR, OLTS, and power measurements; inspect copper cabling integrity.
• Review rack elevations, fiber schematics, and deployment docs for constructability and accuracy.
• Generate as-built documentation, deployment reports, and RCA documentation for issues.
• Provide remote hands support for engineering teams during deployment and validation activities.
• Support standards, cable management best practices, and deployment readiness initiatives.
