Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design and deliver complex data center and cloud infrastructure, spanning network, compute, storage, middleware, and databases. You will analyze requirements and collaborate with IT partners to align designs with business goals.

This hybrid role requires 5+ years in the field, a Bachelor's degree or higher, and ability to mentor engineers. You will engage with vendors, define standards, and ensure SLAs are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs supporting network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to ensure infrastructure capabilities meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware and software performance standards to ensure scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Serve as an infrastructure subject matter expert, providing deep technical guidance on emerging technologies and partnering with vendors.
• Lead and contribute to licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for datacenter technologies.
• Collaborate with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors on infrastructure decisions.
