Job summary

Aligned Data Centers in Sterling, VA, seeks a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and operational oversight of mission-critical facility systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Operations Management, or related field).
• Equivalent industry experience (10+ years in data center operations) may substitute for formal education.
• 5+ years in data center operations or critical facilities management, with multi-site responsibility.
• Strong proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and control systems; safety/regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical oversight for critical facility systems (electrical, mechanical, BMS).
• Review change requests pre-approval to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and vendor work across sites.
• Lead RCA investigations and drive continuous improvement.
