Job summary

5C Data Centers is seeking a Senior Chief Engineer to lead the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical data center infrastructure across multiple facilities in North America. You’ll guide a team of engineers, mentor technicians, and drive major capital projects focused on electrical power delivery and cooling systems.

In this senior role, you’ll shape regional strategy, develop training programs, and establish best practices across sites to ensure 24/7 uptime, safety, and efficiency

Qualifications

• Technical training or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on electrical or mechanical experience.
• 8+ years of mission critical facilities maintenance experience (data centers, power generation, hospitals, etc).
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams across multiple facilities or large-scale projects.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams across multiple sites or large-scale projects, setting priorities and allocating resources.
• Mentor and train Chief Engineers and senior technicians, providing coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement across all sites.
• Ensure consistent maintenance, operation, and reliability across multiple data center sites and critical infrastructure systems.
• Oversee daily operations of the CFM team, ensuring readiness for maintenance, repair, and emergency response.
• Manage uptime, efficiency, and sustainability metrics, delivering executive-level reporting and recommendations.
