Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead electrical, mechanical and life-safety systems across a data center in Mississippi. You’ll drive preventative maintenance, respond to incidents, and coordinate with Engineering Operations Technicians and vendors to keep critical infrastructure running smoothly.

This role requires hands-on engineering leadership, strong communication, and the ability to travel between data center sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues and oversee operation of critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility issues within SLAs.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians; collaborate with Facility Manager to set team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
• Travel to/within data center sites as needed and support after-hours maintenance.
