Job summary

Tailwind Applied Sciences seeks an experienced Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of critical electrical infrastructure for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center projects.

This role provides technical leadership for design, construction, commissioning, and operational optimization of critical facilities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers to meet project timelines and performance objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 5+ years designing or supporting mission-critical facilities or data centers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, UPS, and generator systems.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower; AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.
• Willing to travel up to 25% as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of data center facilities, including utility service entrance systems and power distribution.
• Develop single-line diagrams, load studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc-flash assessments.
• Ensure designs meet Tier III/Tier IV reliability and client objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Support procurement, factory witness testing, RFIs, and site inspections.
• Lead commissioning activities and support startup and operational readiness.
