Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on a data center program, interfacing with clients and design teams. The role requires strong leadership, cost planning, and procurement expertise across multi-project environments.

Applicants should have 5–7 years' experience in cost management, with data center, MEP-heavy scopes, and excellent communication skills. On-site involvement may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management role within the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership is preferred.
• Experience leading cost management activities on medium to large-scale construction projects of moderate to high complexity, preferably within mission-critical, data center, advanced technology, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience supporting large-scale data center developments, including MEP-heavy scopes, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, and mission-critical facilities, is strongly preferred.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement strategies, cost planning, value management, value engineering, and commercial risk management.
• Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project program environments is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders across the data center lifecycle.
• Provide estimating and cost planning services for all project phases.
• Review cost estimates with design team, trade partners and GC for building, MEP, power, cooling, and infrastructure.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data aligns with program objectives.
• Prepare cost estimate updates and executive summaries for stakeholders.
• Coordinate cost information from suppliers, subcontractors, vendors, and labor costs.
• Inform engineering priorities based on cost impact and value opportunities.
• Lead cost checks and valuations on large-scale data center projects.
• Participate in post-contract cost management, commercial administration, and change control.
• Manage contingency, risk allowances and commitment tracking.
