Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Data Center Senior Control System Designer to join our Buildings and Places group in Arlington, VA, with the option for full remote work. This role designs state‑of‑the‑art automation and SCADA systems for complex data centers and mission-critical infrastructure globally.

The position offers remote flexibility and occasional travel for client meetings and milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or controls contractor.
• Experience with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Experience with PMS/EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems/equivalent).
• Experience with data center or mission critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate control sequences and diagrams for mechanical systems.
• Develop network architectures for electrical distribution and conditioning.
• Coordinate ICT interfaces to control panels and devices.
• Design OT networks for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers.
• Prepare Basis of Design (BOD) and cybersecurity specs for controls.
• Develop and tailor division 23/25 controls specifications per BOD.
• Coordinate with electrical team on division 26 power monitoring specs.
• Verify compliance with US codes and standards.
• Work with templated models and track changes from client models.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and attend meetings.
