Job summary

Applied Digital, a leader in AI-driven data center solutions, seeks a Data Center Controls Engineer—Operational SME. The role focuses on design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of BMS/EPMS and automation within data centers to ensure reliable, efficient operations.

The candidate will lead technical initiatives, provide troubleshooting guidance, and collaborate across operations, engineering, and vendors. A strong background in control systems and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years in data center controls/operations with BMS/EPMS expertise.
• Strong knowledge of networking and infrastructure (servers, cooling, power).
• Programming/scripting for automation (Python, PLC).
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain control systems (BMS, EPMS, automation) for data center facilities.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and control system issues with root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendors to optimize automation processes.
• Conduct daily inspections, performance monitoring, and preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure.
• Provide SME leadership, mentor junior staff, and lead training sessions.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, including upgrades and integrations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, perform risk assessments, and support disaster recovery planning.
• Analyze system data, generate reports, and recommend improvements for scalable growth.
