Job summary

Applied Digital Corporation is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer – Operational SME to design, implement, and optimize controls for data center facilities. You will work on BMS, EPMS, and automation technologies to monitor mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems.

The role requires deep expertise in building management systems and automation, along with troubleshooting and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced certifications (e.g., CDCP, PMP) a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in data center operations, controls engineering, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of BMS/EPMS, automation systems, networking, and infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain control systems for data center facilities (BMS, EPMS, automation).
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in electrical, mechanical, and control systems; perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendors to optimize automation and ensure safety standards.
• Conduct daily inspections, performance monitoring, and predictive maintenance of cooling, power, and fire suppression systems.
• Provide SME guidance, mentor staff, lead trainings, and represent the organization in client meetings.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, including upgrades and integrations of new tech.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, perform risk assessments, and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
• Analyze performance data, generate reports, and propose improvements for scalable data center capacity.
