Job summary

Applied Digital is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Controls Engineer – Operational SME to join our team in Louisiana. The role focuses on design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of BMS, EPMS, and automation systems within our data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in data center operations or controls, a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, and strong Python and PLC programming skills, plus experience mentoring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Eng or related field; advanced certifications (CDCP, PMP) a plus.
5+ years in data center operations, controls engineering, or a similar role with proven BMS/EPMS experience.
Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cooling, and power distribution.
Proficient in Python and PLC programming; familiarity with ASHRAE and Uptime Institute standards.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain control systems for data center facilities (BMS, EPMS, and automation).
Troubleshoot complex issues in electrical, mechanical, and control systems; perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendors to optimize automation and ensure safety compliance.
Conduct daily inspections, performance monitoring, and predictive maintenance of critical infrastructure (cooling, power, fire systems).
Provide SME leadership, mentoring, and training; represent the organization in client meetings.
