Applied Digital is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Controls Engineer – SME to lead design, implementation, and optimization of data center control systems. You will focus on BMS, EPMS, and automation, providing technical leadership and troubleshooting guidance across projects.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, migration of upgrades, and strong collaboration with operations, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years in data center operations, controls, or similar roles with BMS/EPMS experience.
• Strong networking knowledge and infrastructure component familiarity.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting tools and automation scripting (Python, PLC).
• Experience with hyperscale or mission-critical environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain control systems for data center facilities (BMS/EPMS).
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and vendors to optimize automation.
• Conduct daily inspections, monitoring, and predictive maintenance of critical infrastructure.
• Provide SME mentoring, lead training sessions, and represent the org in meetings.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, including upgrades and integrations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, perform risk assessments, support disaster recovery.
• Analyze performance data, generate reports, and recommend scalability improvements.
