Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Mechanical Controls Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team in Bellevue, WA. You will ensure operational integrity and reliability of critical data center infrastructure systems powering the world’s largest cloud platform.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capacity delivery, develop SOPs/EOPs, and drive improvements for uptime, efficiency and safety across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Experience in commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability.
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio.
• Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
