Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an Controls Design Engineer to help standardize data center designs globally with a focus on control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems. You’ll collaborate across teams to solve complex issues and drive rigorous design standards in large-scale facilities.

You will work with senior engineers to evolve the data center controls space, evaluating new technologies, and delivering secure, cost-efficient designs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a data center or other critical environment
• 3+ years in electrical diagrams, single line diagrams, and electrical distribution systems
• 3+ years in industrial controls systems
• Experience with power monitoring and SCADA systems
• Experience with Modbus protocols

Responsibilities

• Produce design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and reports
• Safeguard implementation of Global Controls basis of design in data centers
• Develop strategic solutions within quality and budget requirements
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests
• Work with regional vendors to specify electrical and mechanical equipment
• Manage concurrent projects across regions
