Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented Mechanical Controls Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team in Columbus, OH. You will ensure operational integrity of critical data center infrastructure, performing root-cause analysis and driving improvements across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

The role requires 4+ years in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities and experience in commissioning, with a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability.
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio.
• Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
